Employment effects of technological innovation: Evidence from Nigeria's economic sectors

Technological advancement continues to revolutionize the labor market and has particularly intensified debate on its employment effect across developing developed economies. Employing Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) framework, this study provides insights into employment-innovation nexus Nigerian economic sectors using quarterly data from 2011Q1 2021Q4. The findings reveal that is a short-run phenomenon in Nigeria technological innovation enhances generation service sector agricultural sector, but it takes quarter before positive occurs. Overall, results suggest improves reallocates sectors, which suggests need fully operationalize order tackle prevailing unemployment conundrum country.
